About

Casa Creativa is a Cultural Asociación for art, nature and well being. We welcome artists, change makers and nature lovers to dream, create and connect. Together we (re)learn what it means to live sustainably and in harmony with each other, ourselves and the land. Our homebase is in Land of Enchantment, a rustic eco home surrounded by forest, located in Costa da Morte, Spain. It is the coast of poetry, cliffs, wild storms, lighthouses and crystal beaches.

The planet needs as many dots on the map as possible where humans, animals and plants can thrive in harmony. Our center is meant to be one of these dots. We organize art-residency programs, performance nights and workshops for the local community and international artists. The residency programs stem from our mission to transform rural locations into vibrant artistic hubs.

Asociación Cultural Casa Creativa was founded by Milou Mignon (president), Lisanne Rentier (secretary) and Jessica Pfau (treasurer). The three women met in Costa da Morte with a similar mission to create community, celebrate artistic expression and live in a sustainable way.

The Residency Program:

The Lighthouse Residency (Jan-March 2027) is a program for 5-9 international artists to work in community on their art practice. During the Winter months artists gather to come to the essence of their work, re-align their workflow to the seasonal rhythm, be inspired by the Galician landscape and the fellow-artists in the house.

Ingredients:

❂ Weekly group intervision & optional 1:1 mentorship for your project
❂ Nutritious meals prepared together in community
❂ Fill your cup with inspiration by Galician traditions, cuisine & poetry
❂ Hike along the majestic lighthouse path of Costa da Morte
❂ Ocean bathing and silent walks through the forest
❂ Performance nights with the local community by the fire
❂ Co-creation with 5–9 kindred spirits

Daily rhythm:

8:00 Meditation & journaling
8:30 Movement: work out / dance / yoga
9:00 Mini masterclass: every weekday led by one of the residents who shares an inspiration (book, exercise, practice,..)
10:00 Creation session 1
13:00 Lunch
14:30 Creation session 2
19:00 Dinner

Themes:

Each month provides a different lens for reflection:
January (Space & Rhythm) focuses on establishing a sustainable work pace
February (Vision & Sustainability) looks at the long-term impact of the artist’s practice and workflow
March (Collaboration & Conclusion) centers on final outputs and community integration

Experiences

Sabine

Lizan is an alt-tuned, soul-infused singer blending intimacy and resistance into her music. Guided by shimmering grooves, she explores freedom and system-injustice while developing her upcoming EP at Land of Enchantment. She chose the smallest room as her studio where she recorded and produced this Patti Smith song for the book release by Nori Spauwen ‘How to safe the world without losing yourself’ (translated from Dutch).

South African Michael Sebastian creates live dance music, and is on a mission to liberate his audience. He combines electronic, world and jazz music to create an engaging and uplifting experience. At Land of Enchantment he focuses on his dance practice and works on his next record.

Bobbie is a singer-songwriter and founder of open mic gatherings Voices Unleashed, Amsterdam. In Galicia she worked on her new songs, while her new EP was mixed.

Suzanne (Oceanpreneur) is an advocate for the health of the oceans worldwide. During her residency she worked on her second book and oceanpreneur community, reconnecting people with the ocean so they take care better of our precious waters.

It was the perfect place to write, surf and work on my project. It is so quiet here, you are in the middle of nature. I enjoyed my time so much, thanks a lot!
