Surroundings

Costa da Morte is a beautiful green region with a magnificent coastline and hills. Our place near Ponteceso is ideally situated to explore the region. Besides the great local cuisine, the Celtic roots of the region are visible everywhere.

~ Balares (15 min by car) and more of the many, many stunning beaches around here
~ Go and see Faro do Laxe (20+ min by car), there is a beautiful walk on the cliff, a tiny glass beach ‘praia do cristais’ (see pics above) and a tiny town with nice restaurants, next to the village there is surfbeach Soesto (see pic below)
~ Take a swim in Rio do Anllons between our home and Ponteceso (3 min by car). Go left right before the bridge when you are going downhill from the house

~ Lighthouse route (15 min) right from our doorstep you can follow the yellow arrows that lead you further on the lighthouse route of the Camino de Santiago.

They say Galicia has more parties than Andalucia.. In Spring & Summer there are Foliadas in which young and old come together to dance and sing traditional folklore. Lot’s of women groups, very powerful.
